A short film about Sophie Lancaster, just released. She was kicked to death because she looked different.
If I want your opinion, I'll read your entrails.
"Oh, crap! She's awake!" --- Satan
This young woman may possibly be a hermaphrodite; If by all external physical appearances her genitalia is female, and she lives her life as female, then she's female, dammit! Oh, and don't chide me for using the word hermaphrodite. I will NOT use "intersexed" as long as my hermaphroditical friends loathe the term.
I'm proud and delighted to say that my piece "Concede" won 3rd place for Best Drabble in the Dokuga Awards second quarter 2.0.

I was going to submit this to

Saw the dentist today and she wants to keep the crown on with temporary cement for another week, so I go back in next week too. ::sigh:: She may be able to get the crown back on permanently without having to use a post.Wish me luck.
(not work-friendly)
From last nite about 11:30pm:
MYSTERY SOLVED! My motherf*cking crown just FELL OUT OF MY MOUTH and the motherf*cking tooth has snapped off at the gumline!! Well just f*ck me!! Is it possible for me to get a frickin' break here er what??!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
Today at about 6:45
The dentist took x-rays and no fractures appeared on it, though there is a chance one may exist that is too fine to show on the x-ray. She decided that best plan of action was to put the crown back on using temporary cement and see what's going on with it in a week. Pushing the cement and then the crown up into the ragged socket reaaaallly freakin hurt. Seriously, it did. Like alot. Now that whole side of my jaw is throbbing, I'm hungry, and in desperate need of snuggling. So that's why I'm having spaghettios and ice cream for dinner and going to bed. Sans snuggles. This sucks. Good nite.
Okay, today I went to the endodontist who performed my root canal. The x-rays showed no infection, thankfully, and that the crown had gapped and is what's moving, not the tooth stub. So now, I have to go to my regular dentist, have her removed the crown to see if it's an issue of adhesion or if the tooth stub is cracked. If it's cracked horizontally, another crown with a post can be made and inserted. If it's vertically, the tooth will have to be pulled and will more than likely result in me getting a bridge. Hopefully I'll be seeing my regular dentist by the end of the week. *sigh*
....I was related to her, but just recently found out how due to my cousin's research. This is my grandmother, 5 generations back, on my dad's side. Turns out there's an author in the mix as well.
I have a crown that is loose. At least I hope it's the crown and not what's left of the tooth after the root canal that's wiggling up in there. It hurts, so I don't have a good feeling about this....Gotta call the dentist today. Gah!
I have held hands with a mummy and spoken, at length, to a shrunken head about my self-doubts and dreams.
During the summer of 1996, I volunteered at the Dayton Museum of Natural History, now called the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. On my first day there I was given the opportunity to explore the vaults, without chaperone and uninterrupted, for nearly 6 blissful hours. In the days following, I helped re-bag and catalog flint chips whilst seated at a long, banquet-style table with a very pleasant group of weirdos and geeks, plus an entomologist who was always granted ample space at the far end of the table for examining his specimens.
I dug 4’ x 4’ pits with a maddox in the worst heat of August, hand sifted 20cm of plow zone dirt (yes, HAND SIFTED), was bitten by ants whose colonies I’d destroyed, and loved every minute of it. The Wegerzyn Garden Center Site excavations produced large, nearly foot-long pieces of carbon, i.e. wood from a burned building, some post-holes and fire pits. Bits of animal bone found in and around the fire pits had turned blue from heat and looked very similar to the pottery fragments also present. The only test which could be given on-site to ascertain what the item actually was---bone or pottery---was performed by popping the piece in your mouth. Bone, as it turns out, sticks to your tongue.
A friend of mine (Shawn Schulte) lost his mom to ALS a few years back and now he's doing all he can to raise awareness of the disease. His mom was an intelligent, creative woman with a kind, old soul. The link below is about Shawn and what he's trying to do:
Was frickin' awesome! Not only were there many artifacts belonging to Tutankhamun, but 7 of my most favorite pieces EVAR! I also have now gotten to see both of a pair of colossal statues of Tutankhamun, one here in Indy and the other which stands at the Oriental University of Chicago. It took over an hour to get through the exhibition, with the items being presented in such a way that it mimicked the chambers in the actual tomb. Too cool.
I managed to score us tickets for opening day, first showing and holy crap! Zahi Hawass was there! He's the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities who you always see on the Discovery Channel wearing jeans and an Indianan Jones hat. He spoke of recent discoveries of very great importance regarding Tut's death, DNA testing and mummy identification, but explained he couldn't go into much detail as there is a press conference in the near future where he will announce some interesting findings.
My friends Liz and TJ came from Columbus to visit and see the exhibition, and I took my friend Nancy. We had a blast exploring the rest of the Children's Museum (where the exhibition is). There's a friggin' carousel there as well as a nice dino exhibit. The sculptures outside were crazy and included a 3-story dino peering into a skylight on the front of the building and more frolicking around (and into) the building.
Below is a link to the pics I took. No pictures of the exhibition pieces were allowed, but I got some good pics of other things. Some not so clear, but whatever....
The questionable origins of the earrings, bracelets and occasionally too-long necklaces (sorry Artie) I make.
( Come here Igor!! )
I tried to get my hair cut this morning, but found the ONE shop in the frickin' Western world that only takes cash. Another fucking reason to love Indy.!!
...was not only stellar, but brought back lots of movie going memories:
Seeing Total Recall like 3 times in the theater in an attempt to forget my first heartbreak. Included in that stint was Home Alone (II?), where we were forced to sit in the front row as the theater was packed. The accompanying nausea and neck crick were quite unwelcome. I also saw Warlock during that time which was a blast as my recent ex looked like one of the characters who was injured repeatedly in the film >:)
Going to the movies en mass and the freak brigade that we were taking up 3 rows of seats. Wanting to kill Cyber Dan for repeatedly getting up and getting more food because he was stoned. Fighting with Michael C.'s hand in the popcorn bag because we were in the same condition.
Seeing New Jack City in the ghetto with Billy.
And now I bring you the latest edition to movie memories...the time it took me and Nancy 15 minutes to find her car in the parking garage after Star Trek because neither one of us looked at the row signs. Didn't help we were on the wrong floor...
Stellar :)
Looks like I'll be in Columbus Sunday June 28th to hang for a few days :)
I was looking at a friend's photos of England. Resounding in my head, loud and clear as the day the lie was spoken, I recall conversations about retiring to the UK. Just us. Happily ever after.
I am such a chump.
This fucking heartbreak I feel is slowly sucking the life out of me. How long will the pain last this time?
I am a bibliophile. I love books. I am stimulated by the smell of the paper, the scent of age that permeates the antique, and the intricacies of traditional binding. I’ve been known to lovingly caress the grain of leather covers, fabric wrapped boards and artfully embossed spines with seemingly erotic intentions. I will explore bookstores for hours, examining each publication which has garnered my attention until I choose that which has appealed most to my primal need for the scroll.
who has offered me a place to crash when I visit. I have found lodgings with Rob Day and hopefully will be in town June 29, 30, and 31st. Since this is during the week, I'm looking for daytime entertainment whilst he is at work. At this time nothing is 100% confirmed as I am waiting for the ok from work to take some vacation time. I'll keep ya in the loop.
Thankies!
I'm thinking thinking about coming to Columbus for a few days and need a place to crash....
I'm the only straight, monogamous kinkster in the world.
I'm seeing Julie in like an hour!!!
Haven't seen her in in like 8 years and took me nearly 4 to find her! YAAAY!!
Many pictures to follow!!!
Last nite I was speaking to a friend and I voiced fear that all the cool, exciting and adventurous times in my life had already passed. They, of course, insisted that my thought process was erroneous. I agreed.
For quite some time now I've been toying with the idea of teaching English abroad; Japan to be exact. So today I began to investigate just what I'd have to do to make that happen. The preferred and most legit program is run by the Japanese government in conjunction with certain countries, and is basically a paid cultural exchange. I, sadly do not qualify.
